The view from Lake Stevens on the Fourth of July was a spectacular one.
Fireworks surrounded
the lake and offered residents a great show.
City treating lake for milfoil

The City of Lake Stevens began the
implementation of the milfoil treatment
in Lake Stevens this week.
Postings were made at all public access
locations and at each resident’s home
prior to the treatment by AquaTechnex,

the application company.
The treatment herbicide being used is
granular Triclopyr which is a very low risk
to human health.

pages during 2011 session

Cameron andTanner were two of many
students ages 14 to 16 who took part in
the program during the 2011 legislative
session. Pages deliver mail, run errands,
present the flag and learn parliamentary ’
procedure firsthand. Students also try
their hand at drafting a bill and engage
in a mock session.
“The page program offers a rare, first-
hand opportunity to learn about state
government,“ said Sen. Steve Hobbs,‘
D-Lake Stevens, the sponsor of both
Siler brothers. “Cameron and Tanner are
upstanding members of our community
now and will be valued contributors to
it in the future in whatever path they
follow."
After high school Cameron plans to
attend a university with concentrations
in business and photography. Cameron
is involved in extracurricular activities as
well, including soccer, baseball, basket-
ball, track, and honor society.
Tanner plans to become a firefighter.
His interests include soccer, basketball,
band and the Boy Scouts.
The Silers are the sons of Mark and
Debbie Siler of Lake Stevens.
